Wayne to Appear on Drew Marshall Tomorrow

I am completely overwhelmed here with more emails, phone calls and business items than I can possibly manage at the moment. Pray for me, please. There are way too many opportunities and needs coming at me at the moment, and I just cannot keep up. There are some opportunities ahead that will decisively affect my life and restructure my time. As much as I don’t want to give up the simplicity of life as I live it now, I do sense the Lord is asking me to walk through a door that will help us get his message out in a way I’ve not been able to do before I’ll write more as things are clarified here. You can hear about some of it on today’s podcast.

For those interested, however, I’m going to appear as a guest on The Drew Marshall Show tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time, which is 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time). You can listen on line if you like, or there will be podcasts later. I like Drew. This should be a lot of fun. We’re going to be talking about So You Don’t Want to Go to Church Anymore.

In closing, here is a superb illustration of how believers can function together as the church of Jesus Christ in the world.

And I didn’t even know what orphism is! Now I do!

  1. Wayne,
I’ll tune in! I know lots of people discover books via the Drew Marshall Show, but I discovered his show because of The Shack. Someone had posted on his or her blog that some radio show was going to interview the author, so I listened. Now I’ll be listening to Drew often. I really like his style, and it’s easy to catch his shows over the Internet here in Japan.

I hope you have fun with it.

  3. Wayne, here is a quote I thought of today after listening to the interview with Drew.

It is from Dangerous Wonder by Mike Yaconelli

“We are in a battle between dullness and astonishment. The most critical issues facing Christianity is not abortion, pornography, disintegration of the family, moral absolutism, MTV, drugs, racism, sexuality and school prayer. The critical issue today is dullness. We have lost our astonishment. The “Good News” is no longer good new, it’s okay news. Christianity is no longer life changing, it is life enhancing. Jesus doesn’t change people into wide eyed radicals anymore, he changes them into nice people.”

Religion leaves people too often in a state of dullness. For those being caught up in the affection of Father, the life of dullness can’t help but be transformed into a life of simple astonishment.

  5. Wayne, Jess and I loved the interview. We split our sides laughing a couple of times. I’ve been listening to Drew for a while now he is hilarious. There is usually nothing dull about Drew. Glad that you two could connect. Cheers bro keep on slinging the freedom around…

It’s the first time I’ve found your blog.
It is pretty easy to see you are facing critical decisions. I pray indeed that God our/your Father will make his way for you very clear.

I don’t know if this is relevant
I just want to say that having several of your books and other materials available for download transforms their availability to the rest of the world outside the USA. Freight is a killer.

Thank you for the gift of “He Loves Me” and “Jakes Story” and “Living in the Father’s Affection” they have blessed me and I have shared some of them with others and they will continue to have impact.
I am not saying everything should be free. There are costs even in downloads.
I pray indeed that God will make clear the way for you and Sara.

    Richard
