I am so grateful that He Loves Me! is touching lives the way it is. We have just been blown away at people's response to the book. I've had four people after reading the book order an entire case to give away to family, friends and co-workers. Others have ordered a dozen or two extras for the same reason. One person here in Oxnard has already purchased two cases. Also, two singing groups are taking it on the road to make available on their sales tables along with their CDs. I am grateful that God is using this to touch so many.

When we were seeking a publisher for this book over a year ago, I was told by one publisher that even though this book was far different from The Naked Church, it would undermine the motives that organized religion uses to hold people in check. For some reason, he thought undermining those motives was a bad thing. Anyway, here's what some others have written us about the book:

Thank you for sending your book, He loves Me! I have been in the church all my life. I am 38 now and have seen more struggles than the 'normal' Christian will ever see. I have always thought something was wrong with me. Over the last 3 - 5 years I have been increasingly upset with the statu quo. Some of the dearest friends that God has connected me with over the last year have all done as I have and left (organized religion). I grew concerned wondering if this was God or just us being obstinant or discontented. I just wanted to give you a brief praise report pursuant the copies of He Loves Me that I have given out. In the relatively brief time I've been handing out copies, at least three people have indicated that the book has ministered to them in extraordinary ways. One has already purchased additional copies to distribute, another gave away his copy and I will be giving him another copy. Others have indicated that their current situation is such that this book will probably be a real source of encouragement and hope. Indeed, after speaking last Sunday one person came to me sharing how her life has been one aptly described as "Daisy Petal Christianity." After several minutes of conversation I decided to give her a copy, and she was truly thrilled that such a book existed, and could hardly wait to begin reading it.

(A friend) gave me a copy of your book He Loves Me! some months ago. On a recent Thursday out of a pile of great books I am supposed to be reading, the Lord was telling to read yours. Gayle Erwin's forward is enticing. My wife and some friends and I teach a class for seekers at (a local fellowship). Much to our amazement... on the Sunday following my starting your book, I begin sharing with my wife Louise on our way to church the hope that you talk about... getting a glimpse of how much God loves us. We get to class and God brought five new people. I asked them to share with us what God was doing in their lives and why they came. One by one, (each) told us how they wanted to know what it meant to have a relationship with Christ... what it means to be loved by and to love God. My wife and I were almost crying as we witnessed what He was doing. People are excited. I am excited. And God is moving.

I came to have a new appreciation about the Fatherhood of God, need for trust, enjoying grace and the security in my walk with God. Thank you. Your book helped me enormously. I came out of a group that was legalistic and dogmatic. The Lord then put me on the fast track to recovering from that oppression that I had been taught to submit to. As I read I found myself being healed of circumstances surrounding some personal betrayals from our time at the retreat center. The more I read what the Father had given Wayne, the more I came to realize…. (how much) fear and shame (is used) to control (people) through false guilt. Shame and false guilt have busied many into keeping the contrived religious systems running….

Knowing the intensity of God's love frees you forever from groping about in the fear that you can't measure up to His expectations, or that you must stay busy to please Him. Next to the Bible, I believe He Loves Me is a must for anyone who has ever been hurt by others or feels that they can never please God. I can assure you that once you experience our Father's love as He truly desires, you will never need to approach Him in fear.

I don't often recommend books in our newsletters. But you can tell by the amount of space I am committing that this book is important. It is a terrific way to go back to understand what our Father has always wanted.

I met you about a week-and-a-half ago. (I) was in the depths of the valley and, unfortunately, couldn't hold back my tears. (A friend) gave your book (He Loves Me!) to my wife at work and invited us to the gathering. I'm only in the middle of it, but it already has brought a life-changing message to me. After becoming a believer in 1974 and graduating from a Christian college in 1983, I'm only now finally beginning to understand that God has loved me constantly and that there's nothing I can add to the relationship to gain his favor. So now I start each day thanking Him for loving me, asking Him to help me keep focused on His love, trusting in Him and asking Him to show me how we can grow closer in this relationship. My anxiety level at work has already gone way, way down and that downward trend began the day after hearing you speak. The parable of the incredible Father comes to mind as something that really struck a chord with me. I can also tell that the book is affecting me because I have caught myself telling several others about it. I've made some bad choices and also lost some jobs in recent years and, praise God, (my wife) has stuck with me and loved me through it all -- similar to the way the Father loves us. But through her actions and your book I'm starting to feel the freedom one feels when you move away from "He loves me, He loves me not" and toward grace-mindedness.

I read He Loves Me! very quickly because it caught my heart. I have been a Christian in search of the Lord since I was in early parochial school. (This) is the first book I read that touched the damaged part of me from years of teaching about our Lord from a "very typical" Catholic standpoint. I've just started the book since receiving it yesterday. This message of God and his love being the center of all He is, is so needed by the vast majority of his children I get to talk to everyday in my work. The last several weeks have been so wonderful talking to so many people about this life God desires to have with us. The copies of your new book that I ordered arrived late one evening and I began reading the next morning. Before I had finished two chapters I stopped and got dressed and mailed the other copy to my sister in Dallas, telling her that this was what we had needed for so long. Your book has rocked me--talk about a truth-quake! I'm getting freer by the page. I have been wanting to understand in a deeper depth the cross and all that is there and now I think I can edit my own understanding a bit. I remember reading (the passage about coming to Jesus to find rest) and thinking, "Oh yeah, sure!" Rest? Hardly! He loved me like an employer loves a good employee. "Look at all he'll produce?" As long as I produce I'm loved. I was to find out how full of death such Christianity is. Yet I found that most of what I saw was anything but loving rest in the heart of my Father who really did love me. Your little book frees and releases the reader into the greatness of our Father whose love never changes. Never, never, never, never, never! Put simply there is no "Not love" in our Father.

I have really enjoyed it. I hate reading any book at one setting just because there is no way to assimilate that much in such a short time, so I have been reading several pages almost every morning. Today at work I was able to talk to a few people about the things Father has been teaching us all. One is Catholic and she took a copy of the book. She was so interested in the things I shared with her from it. Another guy I have known for sometime now but hadn't seen for 3 or 4 years has been spending some time with a girl from Bosnia who is Muslim. When I was talking to him about your book he said he wanted a copy to give to her because she is having an impossible time reconciling these two very contrasting pictures of God&emdash;the one she is seeing and hearing about here and the one she has lived with in her home country. It is just awesome to see the things the Lord is at work doing. It is also awesome to be learning that it's not about having the right formula ( that I was never able to come up with) to give to people, but it is having Him and just pointing them to HIM. I just finished reading it also and I just wanted to let you know that it was such a revelation to me that I've been trying to win points from someone who isn't even keeping score! I was raised in the Assembly of God and I've spent my life trying to "do" the right things.
